TEACh

Teaching Evaluation and Assignment Committee

The SOLS Teaching Evaluation and Assignment Committee (TEACh) works in close partnership with Undergraduate and Graduate Programs to coordinate faculty teaching assignments* across >350 credit-bearing course sections annually, aligning our interdisciplinary community of 120-130 faculty with programmatic priorities and student demand. TEACh is comprised of faculty representatives across SOLS disciplinary areas and instructional ranks as described below and develops teaching plans that are consistent with established workload policies while supporting both immersion and online instructional modalities. Through proactive, data-informed planning and cross-training of instructors, TEACh advances faculty effectiveness, promotes instructional quality, and strengthens SOLS's capacity to deliver a high-quality educational experience at scale. The sections below provide information on TEACh membership and course clusters by representative that include ROSEY/ROY-based course prioritization

*Important contributions to our educational mission extend beyond traditional course-based instruction and are often recognized as non-course-based instructional activities within SOLS faculty workloads. These include formal mentoring of undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral trainees; leading scholarly activities such as lab meetings; and supporting honors enrichment and certain capstone experiences. Course mechanisms typically categorized as non-course-based and not managed by TEACh include, but are not limited to, intro to research techniques (392), honor directed study/thesis (298, 492, 493, 497), individualized instruction (499), internships (484, 584, 684, 784), undergraduate research (495), graduate research (592, 692, 792), practicum (580,680, 780), or dissertation (799).
